History

During my time at a small Christian college in Texas the entire student body was given a set of 200 verses to memorize during the course of the year. This was time well spent and was a help in not being carried about by every wind of doctrine.

Coming from a programming background, I naturally wrote an application to help drill myself on the verses. This was back in the days when ASCII based graphics were the rule of the day. I found this program to be very useful and shared it with a few friends. As a footnote in history, Skwiz (as the program was called) was instrumental in making an impression on my future wife - A note for you programming bachelors out there.

Then, in 2009, my two eldest sons had the opportunity to participate in the National Bible Bee and memorize over 100 verses during the summer. At my wife's urging I resurrected Skwiz. This time, however, rather than putting something together quickly just for family and friends, I was determined that I would create the best web site I could and make it available to everyone.

It has been an intense year of development, but by God's grace, and with the design assistance of the talented Doug Miller, the site is now open to the public. I pray that it will be of assistance to you as the Lord prepares you for mighty works in His name.
