A total of 28 bundles are now available! There are 3 divisions and 2 tracks and five versions, for a total of 30 verse bundles for the competition. Because of usage limitations, I am not permitted to preload the Senior New International Versions (NIV) verses onto the site, but the Seniors will still be able to quiz themselves on all of the Junior verses.
All versions of the 2011 National Bible Bee have been loaded
June 16th, 2011Two additional sets of verses loaded
June 7th, 2011The New King James Version (NKJV) and the English Standard Version (ESV) verses have all been loaded. I anticipate that the NIV verses will be available sometime tomorrow evening.
National Bible Bee verse bundles added
June 2nd, 2011Today was the kickoff for the 2011 National Bible Bee season. Verse bundles for all divisions and tracks for the King James Version (KJV) and the New American Standard Version (NASB) have been added to the site. Verses for NIV, NKJV and ESV will take a little longer but should be available shortly.
I’m looking forward to this new season and seeing the fruit of our children committing all of this verses to memory.
Two new features added to BibleAnchor
September 20th, 2010If you have used BibleAnchor recently, you may have noticed a few changes.
The first, and most dramatic, is the use of buttons with images on them to select your study method. This should be easier for younger users and those who could use a bigger target to aim at with the mouse.
The second, and probably more useful feature, is for those of you who are creating your own lists of scripture to commit to memory. There are actually two parts to this feature. The first is that you will be assisted when you type in a book name for the reference. Once you type enough letters for BibleAnchor to know which book you are entering it will complete the rest of the name for you. For example, since there is only one book of the Bible that begins with ‘S’, as soon as you type ‘S’ the book name ‘Song of Solomon’ is completed for you.
The other part will save you even more typing. Once you have a valid reference entered, for example “Genesis 1:1″, a link will appear below the area where you are typing. When you hover your mouse over the link there will be a popup containing “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” You can then copy this text and place it in the text area below. The text in the popup will use whichever translation you picked as your preferred translation.
BibleAnchor is live now in version 1.0
July 26th, 2010The beta period is now over and you can officially begin subscribing to the site and begin using it to memorize God’s word.
Of course, there will be ongoing improvements, but the doors are open. Come right in!
